1) GLS Culminating Activity

Students spent the first half of the class finishing up their GLS culminating activity.

2) Exam Review

In the second half, the class completed a mock exam to review for their final exam in this class.

Day 39 - Monday, November 1st

1) Individual Powerpoint Presentation Projects

You will now start work on a 5 minute Powerpoint presentation on a topic of your choice that you will be presenting to the class. Although you get to choose the topic, it must be approved by Mr. Maharaj before you start your work. Some ideas for presentation topics:
  • Biography of a person
  • Company (its history, product/services etc)
  • Product/service (e.g. iPhone, YouTube, Facebook)
  • Country/city
  • Historical event
Criteria:
  • Presentation should be approximately 5 minutes
  • Minimum of 10 slides
  • Pictures
  • Animations
  • Transitions (slide show transitions that are timed will receive higher marks)
  • Consistent design
You will be assessed in the following areas:
  • Knowledge (10) - Depth of understanding of the topic, ability to answer questions
  • Application (10) - Proper formatting and functioning of Powerpoint slideshow. Meets or exceeds stated criteria
  • Communication (10) - Slideshow is visually appealing and engaging. Minimal reading from slides or texts. Presentation is rehearsed and polished. Makes eye contact with audience.
